About the position

The Supervisor of Gas Transmission & Distribution at PG&E Corporation is responsible for managing teams involved in the operations and maintenance of the gas transmission and distribution system. This role ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements while overseeing maintenance work, construction activities, and emergency responses. The position is hybrid, allowing for remote work and flexibility within specified locations in California.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of gas craft employees, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves customers by providing timely completion of gas maintenance, construction, transmission, and regulatory work.
  • Ensures that work is executed safely, including personal and public safety metrics.
  • Manages emergency responses to all requests, ensuring timely and quality service.
  • Monitors compliance to standards and specifications to achieve high-quality work.
  • Develops action plans to address deficiencies in process or employee skill/knowledge and tracks progress.
  • Ensures work is executed within scope, schedule, and cost expectations.
  • Identifies and pursues productivity improvements and implements work practices to reduce operating costs.
  • Completes and maintains all work documentation and reporting.
  • Communicates business goals and objectives to the work group and holds all accountable.
  • Develops the business knowledge and technical skills of all field employees.
  • Fosters teamwork within the work group and across all company functions.
  • Ensures that customers' needs and expectations are met with proactive communication.
  • Implements and holds subordinates accountable for safety best practices.
  • Facilitates weekly team meetings and adjunct training as needed.
  • Oversees projects and second-party contracting within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensures mandated compliance dates and regulations are met.
  • Reviews leak investigation documents and survey maps for accuracy and completeness.
  • Leads root-cause investigations on PG&E at-fault dig-ins and reportable events.
  • Monitors the Gas Operator Qualification (OQ) Program and ensures compliance.
  • Maintains craft qualification records for employees as required by CPUC.

Requirements

  • High-School Diploma or GED
  • Valid California Driver's License or equivalent on day one of hire
  • 5 years of relevant experience in utility, maintenance, construction, operations, logistics, or service planning work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in gas compliance, leak survey, leak repair, and gas construction.
  • Previous leadership experience, e.g., as a crew foreman.
  • Experience leading union-represented employees.
  • Utility experience.
  • Experience serving and meeting the needs of internal and/or external customers.
