About the position

The Supervisor of Fulfillment Pharmacy Operations at Optum is responsible for leading a team of Pharmacy Technicians and Clerks in a Specialty Fulfillment Pharmacy. This role involves ensuring high-quality outcomes for members by managing operational duties, fostering a collaborative team environment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires effective leadership, performance management, and the ability to inspire and develop team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Pharmacy Technicians, Team Leads, and Clerks to process Specialty prescription orders.
  • Schedule and assign employees to meet operational requirements and follow up on work results.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train new employees for the pharmacy team.
  • Provide leadership for training and development of team members.
  • Communicate and support team members through one-on-ones, daily huddles, and quarterly development conversations.
  • Monitor individual and team performance to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Provide feedback and performance management to inspire and guide the team.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with senior leadership to implement changes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in driving continuous improvements and implementing change within an organization.
  • Proven ability to manage performance effectively using appropriate tools and practices.
  • Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, recognition, inclusiveness, and diversity.
  • Willingness to work the required hours (Sunday - Thursday 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM).

Nice-to-haves

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Licensure in Indiana or National Pharmacy Technician Certification, or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience in a warehouse, retail, production, or distribution center setting.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy practice and health system regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in mail order pharmacy operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
