About the position
The Supervisor, Critical Operations at QTS is responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of critical electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within a data center environment. This role involves tactical execution and team leadership, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations while providing exceptional customer service. The position requires a commitment to a 24/7 operational schedule and includes responsibilities for emergency response planning and team development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Coordinate and integrate all aspects of maintenance for critical equipment.
- Assist customers on the Data Center floor with requests and installations.
- Lead and mentor the Critical Operations Team, providing on-the-job training and coaching.
- Establish and maintain facility policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
- Develop emergency response plans and manage incident reporting.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all critical systems and equipment.
- Oversee work orders for maintenance and ensure timely completion.
- Facilitate Data Center space and cable plant design and maintenance.
- Review and provide input for the operating budget and manage necessary parts ordering.
Requirements
- Four or more years of workplace or relevant industry experience.
- Previous direct or indirect people leadership experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Six or more years of workplace or relevant industry experience.
- Previous people leadership experience in a data center environment.
