About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is seeking a Supervisor for Crisis Response Services to provide direct supervision to clinical staff, deliver community-based crisis services and Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) evaluations, and design and implement safety plans. This role involves providing 24/7 supervisor backup support on a rotating basis, training and supervising staff to ensure compliance with service goals, and offering consultation and education to FBH staff and the community. The position supports telephone triage and 24-hour crisis intervention/ITA services, with supervision potentially occurring in office and field settings. Responsibilities include facilitating customer satisfaction, participating in program planning and evaluation, peer review, and administrative meetings, as well as monitoring communication between staff, clients, and community agencies. The role also involves ensuring staff compliance with contract requirements, DCR protocols, and ITA evaluations, maintaining customer service standards, collaborating with community resources, and ensuring timely completion of charting and paperwork. The Supervisor will also establish good working relationships with staff, ensure compliance with state regulations and FBH policies, serve in an advisory capacity to management, and ensure equal opportunity for staff. Duties include interviewing, selecting, training, mentoring, and addressing performance issues of new employees, as well as resolving complaints. While FBH aims for fixed shifts, flexibility may be required for coverage. The role may involve supervising interns and providing licensure supervision when eligible. Travel to see clients and between work sites is required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the behavioral sciences.
  • Two years post master’s degree professional experience in clinical work and coordination of treatment services.
  • At the time of hire, must meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200 by having applied for one of the following DOH credentials: Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) OR License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) AND THEN credential must be active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently have an active LMHC, LMFT or LISWC.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, active car insurance and must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and supervise staff in clinical service delivery, case conceptualization and assure staff compliance with administrative requirements.
  • Knowledge of models of service delivery including groups, skills training, brief/focused therapy, community-based intervention for children and/or adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle, traverse distances up to several city blocks and on various terrains, navigate stairs, get in and out of vehicles frequently is required.
  • Daily use of a computer is required.
  • May be required to lift 10 - 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to assigned clinical staff.
  • Provide community-based crisis services and Involuntary Treatment Act evaluations to individuals in crisis and behavioral health emergencies.
  • Design and implement viable safety plans.
  • Provide 24/7 supervisor back-up support on a rotating basis.
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure compliance and implementation of service goals and objectives.
  • Provide consultation and education to other FBH staff and to the community.
  • Support, promote and actively work toward the delivery of telephone triage and 24-hour crisis intervention/ITA services.
  • Facilitate internal and external customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of the program.
  • Participate in peer review, in-house educational and administrative meetings as directed.
  • Monitor and facilitate communication of staff, individuals we serve and community, interagency and crisis response services interactions.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to ensure staff’s compliance with contract, RCW and WAC requirements for the Apple Health Plan Managed Care Organizations, the SCRBH (ASO), DOH, HCA, or other Contractor monitoring.
  • Train, coach, and supervise staff to ensure compliance and implementation of telephone triage, crisis interventions, DCR Protocols, and ITA evaluations/investigations.
  • Ensure DCRs meet response criteria including follow-up of high-risk individuals.
  • Provide direct crisis services and Involuntary Treatment Act evaluations as required.
  • Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure that both external and internal customers of FBH have a positive experience.
  • Work closely as necessary with other community resources, professionals and systems (e.g., law enforcement, DCFS) to support quality care and facilitate a collaborative partnership.
  • Ensure all assigned staff perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday, and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all FBH staff.
  • Understand and adhere to, and ensure all assigned staff comply with, all state WAC and RCW requirements, DCR protocols and FBH policies and procedures.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the Program Administrator (if applicable) and Director in employment and assignment of agency personnel.

  • Mentor and coach employees, addressing performance or conduct issues as needed.

  • May be assigned to supervise interns.
