About the position

The dump truck driver is responsible for operating a super 18 dump truck to transport asphalt, aggregate and other materials to various job site locations.

Responsibilities

  • Operates truck in a safe and professional manner while complying with HOLCIM's safety standards including all state and federal regulations.
  • Performs daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines.
  • Punctual and prepared to load at the assigned scheduled time at all times.
  • Effectively communicates with dispatch department.
  • Performs preventive maintenance such as regularly checking air pressure in tires, checks fluid levels including oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel.
  • Performs minor repairs to truck as needed; refers major issues to supervisor.
  • Maintain appearance of truck.
  • Maintain professional attitude with all internal and external customers and peers both in person and on radio communications while providing excellent customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid Class B CDL (tanker endorsement preferred)
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience
  • Experience with Manual Transmission truck
  • Prior experience working in contracting, construction materials or transporting equipment preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to do basic mathematical calculations
  • Must pass DOT physical and have clean driving record
  • Must be registered for the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be willing to work in dusty and dirty work environments
  • May be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles
  • Noise level is low to moderate
  • Must be willing and able to work in all outside weather conditions
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty and job sites
  • May require sitting for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly
