About the position

The Physical Education Teacher for Summer School at Woodland School District 50 will provide a diversified program of participation, focusing on psycho motor development and functional fitness. The teacher will encourage students to achieve new skills, develop positive behavior patterns, and promote integrity and respect. The position emphasizes a commitment to lifelong learning and the celebration of diversity within the student population.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Woodland District 50 Curriculum including Response to Intervention (RtI)
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
  • Instruct students to promote healthy bodies and minds
  • Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Woodland School District 50 Staff handbook
  • Contribute to a positive school climate through support of the district's Strategic Plan and Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program
  • Order materials and supplies as per district procedures
  • Collaborate with other physical education teachers to plan a balanced program
  • Work with adaptive physical education staff to meet the needs of students with physical limitations
  • Maintain control of storage and use of school-owned property and equipment
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil conduct
  • Evaluate and maintain appropriate records including student attendance and performance
  • Communicate regularly with parents and school personnel regarding student progress
  • Actively supervise students in various settings
  • Attend and participate in meetings and professional development
  • Keep up to date with developments in subject area and instructional methods
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal

Requirements

  • Professional Educator License with Physical Education Endorsement
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior teaching experience or student teaching experience
