About the position
The Summer School Guidance Counselor for grades 8-12 at Guilford High School will be responsible for providing academic and emotional support to students during the summer session. The counselor will assist students in navigating their educational paths, addressing any personal issues, and ensuring a positive and productive summer learning experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic guidance and support to students in grades 8-12.
- Assist students with course selection and educational planning.
- Address personal and emotional issues that may affect students' performance.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and teachers.
- Organize and lead workshops on study skills and personal development.
Requirements
- Valid counseling certification or license.
- Experience working with middle and high school students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in summer school programs.
- Knowledge of college and career readiness resources.
