About the position

The summer internship program spans 10 weeks, starting on June 2 and concluding on August 8, 2025. This program is designed to equip you with the experience and skills necessary for your studies and future career. Interns will be integrated into the Manufacturing, Marketing, and Processing (MMP) area, which is responsible for maximizing the value of Equinor's production worldwide. This includes global market analysis, marketing and trading of crude oil, petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity, as well as developing low carbon solutions such as hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. Interns will have the opportunity to work on various tasks across the business, with assignments tailored to their competencies and the needs of the business. Typical tasks may include supporting commodity trading activities, energy logistics, and low carbon solutions projects. Interns will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, contributing to the company's strategic focus on data, digitalization, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support commodity trading activities, including chartering and risk management.
  • Develop and validate quantitative models for valuation and risk assessment using financial mathematics or econometric methods.
  • Assist in commercial operations, contract management, claims, deal handling, and settlement within energy logistics.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and business development in low carbon solutions.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a strong academic record in relevant fields such as Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Shipping, Trading, Logistics, Innovation, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or Sustainability.
  • Fluent in English.
  • No more than two years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Completed at least two years of bachelor education before the internship program starts (2 June 2025).
  • At least one year of higher education remaining after the internship program ends (8 August 2025).
  • Candidates must reside in a state where Equinor operates and have the necessary work permit for the country of application.
