About the position

Peraton is seeking Summer 2025 Cyber Research Interns in various locations including Basking Ridge, NJ, Silver Spring, MD, Bedford, NH, and West Lafayette, IN. Peraton Labs is a self-sustaining research center that delivers innovative solutions and revolutionary capabilities to address complex challenges faced by government agencies, utilities, and commercial customers. With a rich heritage from Bell Labs, Bellcore, DHPC, and Telcordia, Peraton Labs focuses on applied research and engineering to enhance communications, analytics, and cybersecurity. The cybersecurity research conducted at Peraton Labs is crucial for protecting mission-critical systems and national cyber infrastructure through initiatives in computer network defense, cyber operations, secure-by-design techniques, and experimentation platforms. Interns will engage in applied research and development in key areas such as designing and implementing advanced Deep Learning models to detect cybersecurity threats, developing cyber deception technologies to deter adversaries, and conducting literature surveys on state-of-the-art cyber deception technologies and adversarial attacks against Deep Learning architectures. Interns will also be responsible for rapidly developing Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate research findings, preparing documentation and presentations summarizing these findings, and collaborating with team members to integrate PoCs and prototypes into a unified technology. The role will also involve creating implementation plans for transferring technology to government customers and engaging in full-spectrum cyber operations, including both offensive and defensive strategies. Additionally, interns will work on software reverse engineering, vulnerability research, exploit development, and applying machine learning methods to cybersecurity problems.
