About the position

The SUD Counselor is responsible for providing counseling, education, and support to clients dealing with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The counselor will also provide case management services and maintain accurate records of client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes and discharge planning for clients.
• Perform initial assessments and develop treatment plans within required time guidelines.
• Evaluate clients' appropriate level of care and severity of issues on an ongoing basis.
• Determine clinical necessity for counseling services based on assessments.
• Provide evidenced-based treatment services to clients.
• Conduct new client orientation regarding rules, policies, and patients' rights.
• Provide case management services, including referrals to community resources and medical services.
• Accurately record all services provided in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current CADTP and/or CCAPP Counselor Certification is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse, mental health, and dual diagnosis treatment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• Trained in SAGE-PCNX EHR and ASAM Training is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in addiction counseling for at least 1 year.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services (not a substitute for certification requirement).
