About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 14 hours per week. The position is located in Camas, Washington, near Portland, Oregon. Substitutes are called as needed when staff are unavailable, with the flexibility to decline assignments. No teaching certification or formal experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. The role involves teaching in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays during the academic year. Childcare/nursery is provided. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith, living it daily and having received appropriate sacraments. Curriculum and grading guidelines will be provided, and tutors will receive training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. All staff must complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training.

Requirements

• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Deep love for the Catholic faith and living it day-to-day.
• Having received all sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organization.
• Timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Clear background check.
• Completion of RCA Safe Child training.

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
• Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
