About the position

The Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC/LPC) at Able Recovery, LLC is responsible for providing individual and group therapy to patients undergoing treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. This role involves working under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor and acting as a mediator between patients, their families, medical staff, and external agencies. The counselor will implement treatment plans, conduct intake assessments, and ensure compliance with licensure and continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Interview consumers and complete intake assessments
  • Implement the Twelve Core Functions of Substance Abuse
  • Document prompt, accurate progress notes and treatment plans
  • Provide effective individual, group, and family counseling specific to addiction treatment
  • Perform discharge planning or referrals to inpatient settings when necessary
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings and training events
  • Keep up-to-date on licensure, continuing education credits, and credentials
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • LADC-C - Master's degree in social services, substance abuse, behavioral health, or related field AND approved to work under supervision by the Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Health
  • LADC/LPC/LCSW - Master's degree in substance abuse, behavioral health, social or health services with 1+ years' experience AND licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Health
  • NCAC (National Certified Addiction Counselors) certified to practice nationwide
  • Education and/or work experience in substance abuse treatment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of private information in accordance with HIPAA
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and urine drug test
  • Drug free and out of treatment (if applicable) for at least two (2) years immediately prior to employment

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in addiction counseling (Preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in intake (Preferred)
  • LADC certification (Preferred)
  • LPC certification (Preferred)
