About The Position

Shaw Industries is seeking a Student Term I to join their team. This position involves recognizing and understanding carpet defects, inspecting carpet, packing and palletizing tiles, sorting tiles, and performing various audits. The role requires maintaining a neat workspace, gaining necessary skills, and safely completing assigned duties. A high level of A.T.D. is required.

Requirements

• This position will require standing, heavy and/or repeated lifting, bending, or stooping for long periods of time.
• Pass color blindness test.
• Withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
• Expected to be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and understand carpet defects.
• Inspect the front and back of carpet while looking for defects.
• Pack tiles into boxes and palletize them.
• Sort Tiles into proper Shop Order.
• Perform various types of audits, including but not limited to, box and quality audits.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work space.
• Gain and maintain all necessary skills to perform jobs as assigned.
• Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.
• High level of A.T.D. required.
