About the position
The Desktop & Laptop Computer Support Specialist at Neumann University is responsible for providing technical support to the university community, focusing on desktop and laptop computers, hardware devices, and related software applications. This role involves assisting users with system specifications, configuring university PCs and laptops, and maintaining expertise in university-standard hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Assist Neumann University community users of desktop and laptop computers and other hardware devices.
- Provide hardware/software support in support of the ITR Help Desk staff by responding to calls and logged problems.
- Configure University PCs and laptops.
- Consult with end users to determine hardware, software, and system functional specifications.
- Use Help Desk database effectively to record new requests and document work.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in the operation and application of university standard hardware and software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience with desktop and laptop computing.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member and leader.
- Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate effectively with end users.
- Skill in Windows, Microsoft Office, Multimedia software, and Internet applications.
- A working knowledge of audio video technologies.
