The Student Lifeguard position involves supervising the activities of swimmers by enforcing rules and regulations. The lifeguard is responsible for warning swimmers of improper activities or hazards, rescuing persons in distress or in danger of drowning, and providing rescue breathing, CPR, and First Aid. The lifeguard must notify the Aquatic Coordinator of any accidents, rescues, or other pertinent information. Additionally, the lifeguard is expected to successfully and positively perform within work team dynamics, including a willingness to cover shifts in other areas of the building. Attendance at all scheduled shifts and in-service training is mandatory. The lifeguard will also maintain attendance and activity records and complete required reports, as well as assist in cleaning and maintaining the pool, locker rooms, and related areas and facilities.
