About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Storeroom Material Handler, 1st Shift. The rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note that the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
  • 3 months of experience operating a powered industrial truck (forklift).
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered.
  • Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Flexible with work hours and available for overtime as needed to support the organization.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups within a team‑oriented environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle or feel objects and materials.
  • Frequently required to stoop and perform tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to or exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color distinction.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 months of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • 3 months of experience using hand and pneumatic (air) tools.
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and issuing raw materials, assemblies, sub‑assemblies, tools, and supplies, as well as forwarding all required documentation to computer services for data entry.
  • Supporting planners and buyers with material‑availability processes.
  • Preparing finished products and raw materials for boxing, packing, and shipping as needed.
  • Contributing to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Using a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools to unload and load trucks arriving or leaving from receiving area and for placing material in the proper bin location or delivering material to the work centers.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement as well as completing root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
  • Responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before shipping, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Cross training and standing in for other employees/job functions when necessary.
  • Using supply chain tracking systems to maintain inventory.
  • Operating a forklift to move material.
