Responsibilities
- Manage the Perishable Departments including produce, fresh meat, packaged meats, dairy, frozen food, bread, and thaw and sell bakery products.
- Assist Store Manager with efficient and effective inventory management and appealing merchandise presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food handling rules and regulations.
- Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and adherence to security practices.
- Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe handling of food.
- Record Perishable Markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
- Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using various tools.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and training associates in the Perishable departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and inventory management practices.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and perform mathematical calculations.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
- Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

- New Hire Starting Pay Range: 18.00 - 18.50
