About the position

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) position at CVS Health is a development-focused role designed to prepare individuals for a future Store Manager position. This program emphasizes career enhancement and leadership development through a structured 16-week training program. Participants will engage in both virtual and hands-on learning experiences, which are essential for developing the necessary skills to lead a CVS store effectively. The training is supported by a team that includes a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach, all dedicated to fostering the growth of the SMIT.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
• Perform customer care duties to ensure high levels of service are provided.
• Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth.
• Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
• Actively engage with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to facilitate promotion during the structured program.
• Support the store as a management team member and lead in alignment with CVS values and policies.
• Engage colleagues in support of the company's mission of helping people on their path to better health.
• Be open to accepting promotional roles within the market of employment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform customer care duties effectively.
• Experience in executing merchandising strategies.
• Skills in managing inventory and assets for profitability.

• Previous experience in retail management or leadership roles is preferred.
