About the position
The Steel Warehouse Associate position involves assisting customers with steel and agricultural products, including receiving, sorting, and loading materials. The role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while operating various equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely assists customers with steel orders, including pulling, stacking, and loading steel.
- Operates a variety of equipment, including cutting torch, chop saw, band saw, forklift, and overhead crane.
- Receives product from incoming trucks and places it in the appropriate storage area.
- Moves product to the appropriate area for shipping and stocking in an efficient and safe manner.
- Complies with OSHA and branch safety standards for handling and stacking products.
- Completes accurate and legible paperwork as necessary.
- Demonstrates commitment to be present and work all assigned hours as needed.
- Performs and completes any work assigned in an efficient, safe, and productive manner.
- Cooperates with employees, customers, suppliers, and others with honesty and respect.
- Complies with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, local, and company statutes or rules.
- Effectively communicates with management and co-workers.
- Accepts responsibility for own decisions and actions.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Forklift Certification
- Experience in warehouse operations
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform math calculations for lengths, weights, and billing
- Knowledge of metals preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to operate cutting torch and small tools
- Good work ethic with high honesty and integrity
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to pass background check
