About The Position

The Forklifts Operator is responsible for safely operating forklift while performing warehouse and material handling duties.

Requirements

• Valid active forklift certification.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees, and to read and understand safety rules, operation, maintenance, and procedure manuals.
• Proficiency in basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to read and understand work orders and written instructions, utilize measuring devices such as rulers, tapes, and calipers, and use a computer to check stock and print tags
• Knowledge of products handled in the warehouse
• Ability to use banding equipment
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Demonstrated reliable work history
• Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks

Nice To Haves

• 1-year certificate from a college or technical school
• Three to six months of related experience
• Two-year technical degree or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in a related field

Responsibilities

• Drive the forklift and control the movement of lifting apparatus by moving levers and pressing pedals
• Position lifting forks under loaded pallets or skids, transport loads to designated areas, and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device
• Maintain material in an efficient and orderly manner by size and grade for easy retrieval
• Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed
• Inspect materials for damage or shortages and report findings to the supervisor
• Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices
• Perform routine maintenance on the forklift, including lubricating the truck, recharging batteries, filling the fuel tank, or replacing the liquefied gas tank
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support warehouse operations
