About The Position

Micron Technology, a world leader in memory and storage solutions, is seeking a passionate, strategic, and community-centered Staff, Social Impact & Community Engagement to advance its social impact initiatives in Idaho and Mexico. This role serves as Micron's local advocate for inclusive STEM education, supporting community efforts and employee participation in these two diverse locations. The position involves leading the community engagement lifecycle, including sourcing and managing grants, mobilizing employee volunteers and donors, establishing partnerships, and representing Micron as a corporate citizen. The role is part of a globally minded, fast-paced team that prioritizes outcomes, innovation, and community as a core business priority.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years in social impact, community engagement, corporate philanthropy, or related fields.
  • Proven success building and leading partnerships with nonprofit, multilateral, and philanthropic organizations to deliver programs for underserved populations.
  • Experience managing grant portfolios end-to-end, including sourcing, due diligence, contracting, and impact reporting.
  • Strong global collaboration skills, including working across time zones in matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and a growth mindset.
  • High digital proficiency (including AI tools).
  • Ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep familiarity with Idaho and/or Mexico’s social impact and philanthropic landscape.
  • Knowledge of corporate philanthropy guidelines and emerging trends.
  • Experience crafting or supporting programs in STEM education, workforce development, or job readiness.
  • Solid understanding of social impact measurement, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Benevity or similar corporate giving and employee volunteering platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to champion innovation, shared learning, and accountability across teams and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Source, build, and supervise a local grants portfolio consistent with Micron's social impact strategy, emphasizing growing access to STEM education, employment, and career pathways for underrepresented and underserved communities in Idaho and Mexico.
  • Deliver Micron's STEM Signature Programs (e.g., Chip Camps, Careers in Tech, Going Tech) through grants to community partners.
  • Steward grants through all phases: partner identification, application assessment, impact evaluation, and relationship support.
  • Integrate participatory grantmaking practices, including engagement with Micron's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), in portfolio development and decision-making.
  • Manage all grants, sponsorships, and in-kind giving through Benevity, Micron's corporate giving platform.
  • Build and implement strategies to engage staff volunteers and contributors across Idaho and Mexico, fostering a culture of giving and service.
  • Lead site-level planning and coordination for Star Light, Micron's annual global month of service.
  • Cultivate partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations offering high-quality, skills-based volunteering opportunities.
  • Formulate and deliver a community engagement plan customized for each area, nurturing relationships with nonprofits, schools, multilateral entities, government associates, and civil society partners.
  • Establish and continue connections with other corporate and private philanthropic bodies.
  • Represent Micron at local community functions and act as a spokesperson for media and partner interactions related to social impact activities.
  • Practice a shared value approach to corporate philanthropy, integrating social impact into Micron's broader business priorities.
  • Partner closely with internal teams (Communications, Marketing, Government Affairs, Sustainability, Talent Acquisition, University Relations, Culture and Inclusion, Team Member Engagement) to ensure alignment and amplification of community work.
  • Collaborate with SICE colleagues across global sites to share standard methodologies, scale successful programs, and contribute to team-wide priorities.
  • Work as a liaison to specific ERGs, industry associations, and other internal teams as assigned.
  • Work alongside Communications and Impact Measurement leads to track, assess, and share the social impact of the portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of learning by detailing insights, bringing forward lessons learned, and refining program quality and efficiency.
  • Use data and analysis to guide decisions, back recommendations, and challenge assumptions.
