About the position

The Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) position works under the direction of the District Superintendent II and plays a critical role in overseeing the Administrative Program at the Channel Coast District Office, located at San Buenaventura State Beach, Ventura, CA. The responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to supervision of the Administrative Program, financial and expenditure analysis, database management, leadership and team management, and time management and initiative. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with strong time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines. This position is designated as not telework eligible and requires a valid Class C driver's license. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise various aspects of the administrative program, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of fiscal management, personnel management information systems, and business management services.
  • Analyze financial data and expenditure information, making projections, and ensuring accurate and timely records of financial transactions.
  • Maintain and manage databases to track, record, and generate projections related to the financial and operational aspects of the district.
  • Manage and direct a team, ensuring work is completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work including lifting, bending, pushing or pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) to perform job duties.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in a clear and concise manner.
