Requirements

  • BS degree from accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDES diverse patient population.
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients.
  • Ability to identify barriers to performance of others and provide coaching, training or other assistance to remove those barriers.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly.
  • Microsoft suite and various audio/video platforms

Responsibilities

  • Ensures efficient and accurate dispensing of medications, counsels’ patients on medication therapy, supervises pharmacy technicians and oversees all areas of pharmacy services and operations.
  • Evaluates prescriptions for completeness, accuracy and appropriateness for patients age, weight, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Advises prescribers and patients on drug therapy management, including formulary alternatives, drug interactions, side effects, indications and usage.
  • Responsible for the ordering, storage and handling of pharmaceuticals. Maintains pharmacy inventory and supplies following department budget.
  • Follows policy and procedure for detecting and reporting pharmaceutical errors and incidents. Assists in developing policy and procedure for prevention of future errors.
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians in entering prescription and patient demographic information, filling prescriptions and filling clinic and vaccine orders.
  • Supervises disposal of outdated drugs and returns expired vaccines to manufacturer for credit.
  • Supervises and manages payment transactions and follows cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Collect data and prepares reports for the Pharmacy Manager as needed.
  • Complies with all federal and state laws, rules and regulations governing pharmacists and pharmacy practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
