About the position
Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a part-time Staff Nurse RN for the Cancer Center in downtown Minneapolis, focusing on Radiation Therapy. This role involves providing and coordinating nursing care under general supervision, with a commitment to patient wellness and education.
Responsibilities
- Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health
- Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care
- Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
- Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
- Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
- Educating patient on their disease process
- Assuring continuity of care
- Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
- One year of current oncology professional nursing (RN) experience
- OCN certified or able to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date
- Chemo administrative experience
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in area of clinical specialty
- Chemo/Biotherapy course
- Inpatient Oncology experience
- BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged.
