About the position

We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Heavy Industrial Operations Engineering Team. In this role you will utilize your manufacturing and project management experience to lead projects to drive manufacturing process improvements across the business team. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and successful implementation into production of manufacturing engineering solutions to solve critical problems. You will work closely and collaborate with both the production team and various cross functional teams depending on the specific focus of the role. The role will be focused primarily on process technology, new product process development, automation, and/or digital technology. This position will be responsible to work within an environment of high uncertainty, requiring creative problem solving, a flexible approach, and utilization of risk mitigation techniques to accomplish project goals. It will be very critical that the candidate is self-motivated, can make decisions with little oversight and able to operate in an agile working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage several projects simultaneously, developing project objectives and milestones and ensuring that each project is completed on time, within budget, and successfully implemented into production.
  • Drive technical solutions across the business to improve manufacturing processes, indirectly leading other engineers or technicians.
  • Build relationships with the direct production team as well as cross-functional teams.
  • Design tooling, fixtures and workstations essential for new product introduction to the production cells.
  • Manage the investigation, capital justification and purchase of new equipment and tooling.

Requirements

  • BS in engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Root cause problem solving skills, methodology, and ability to innovate corrective actions/solutions
  • Lean/Six-Sigma certifications, knowledge, application, leadership
  • CAPEX justification & management
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate execution plans for strategic activities
  • Ability to mentor and train Technicians
