About the position

The Staff Cyber Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman will be a key member of an Agile team responsible for developing high-visibility, mission-critical software components. This role involves working with advanced technologies in a dynamic environment, focusing on software development, testing, and integration to support strategic planning in global security contexts. The position emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and the application of complex software systems to meet documented requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Work individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to design requirements.
• Resolve software problem reports and utilize appropriate software development methodologies.
• Create specific input to software components of system design, including hardware/software tradeoffs and requirements analysis.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

Requirements

• 14 years of experience as a Software Engineer with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or 18 years of experience without a degree.
• A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph, with the latest update less than 5 years old.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
• Experience in Java Software Development.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Experience with debugging existing software and correcting defects.
• Ability to design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Experience with developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases.
