About the position
The Assistant Volleyball Coach at Cedarville University plays a vital role in fostering a culture of competitive athletics that encourages student-athletes to make a positive impact in the world. This full-time position supports the Head Coach in various aspects of coaching, including recruitment, practice instruction, and program operations, while also mentoring and discipling players.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and disciple players
- Assist with day-to-day program operations
- Serve as the JV team head coach
- Manage the program's social media
- Administer and organize volleyball camps/clinics
- Coordinate team and recruiting travel
- Help with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes
- Oversee team equipment ordering and inventory
- Report any NCAA, Conference, and University rule violations to the compliance coordinator
- Maintain a commitment to NCAA, Conference, and University rule compliance
Requirements
- BA Degree required
- Previous coaching experience (collegiate experience preferred)
- High character qualities: enthusiasm, dependability, creativity, motivation, flexibility, and integrity
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents, and others
- Knowledge of NCAA DI or DII preferred (as athlete or coach)
- Self-motivated with initiative and work ethic
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Have access to/use of a personal vehicle
