About The Position

The Staff Accountant will support our finance team by managing daily accounting tasks, facilitating a smooth monthly financial close, and quarterly / annual compliance reporting. You will be part of a team working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Proven experience as a staff accountant with 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Attention to detail and strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Easily understand and adapt to new technology

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. Microsoft Business Central).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and other business tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related fields; with 5 years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Data Rails and Power BI a plus.
  • Qualifications (CPA or CMA) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Ensure invoices are accurately coded by location and department, ensuring compliance with internal policies and budget allocations.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze monthly AR reports and determine appropriateness for allowance for doubtful accounts.
  • Analyze monthly AP reports and partner with AP team to ensure that expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and corporate credit card transactions are appropriately recorded.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company’s internal policies.
  • Maintain accounting schedules aligned to current ASC principles for lease accounting, inventory reserves, etc.
  • Work closely with other finance team members to identify and resolve discrepancies ahead of management month-end results reviews.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new technologies, procedures, and features to enhance workflow, updating business standard work and process flow documents as necessary.
  • Support audit preparation and coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors where necessary.
