SRO Instructor
About The Position
A 4 to 5 month contract opportunity. You will report to the Program Director located in Monticello, MN. This role involves delivering training in classroom, simulator, and plant environments, instructing and evaluating non-licensed operators, initial license candidates, and licensed operators and shift leadership. The position also requires developing and maintaining training materials, supporting performance improvement and corrective action programs, assisting with simulator fidelity and regulatory compliance, and participating in emergency response organization, refueling outages, and plant issue response.
Requirements
- Active or previously held Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license required
- Instructional capability
- Prior SRO certification (BWR preferred)
- 10+ years nuclear operations experience
- Classroom and simulator instruction experience
- Experience with NUREG-1021 exam development
- INPO Instructor Certification
- Supervisory experience
Responsibilities
- Deliver training in classroom, simulator, and plant environments
- Instruct and evaluate: Non-licensed operators, Initial license candidates, Licensed operators and shift leadership
- Develop and maintain training materials (lesson plans, simulator scenarios, evaluation tools, JPMs)
- Support performance improvement and corrective action programs
- Assist with simulator fidelity and regulatory compliance (NRC / ANSI standards)
- Participate in emergency response organization, refueling outages, and plant issue response
