About the position

The Senior Test Engineer at Blue Canyon Technologies is responsible for supporting test engineering tasks related to the development, qualification, and acceptance testing of spacecraft systems. This role involves working in a collaborative team environment, including remote team members, to engage in testing and support of flight spacecraft electronics. The engineer will develop test procedures, write automated test scripts, design test equipment, and execute tests using aerospace standard approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Lead the integration and test of spacecraft systems
  • Write, review, update, and implement test procedures
  • Use test and measurement equipment to test and troubleshoot hardware
  • Develop and modify test scripts
  • Maintain required test engineering logs and records
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the company
  • Prepare complex and professional test plans, procedures, and reports to demonstrate compliance to system requirements
  • Read schematics, use service manuals, and follow test procedures
  • May include personnel management responsibilities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience with hardware testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
  • Experience with writing and executing manual and/or automated test procedures
  • Experience with programming languages such as Matlab, Ruby (COSMOS), and/or Python or similar
  • Ability to work independently with some direction and to be a self-starter
  • Experience with spacecraft level system integration and test
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in Test Engineering or a related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electric motor design and test
  • Experience with embedded software
  • Experience with radiation testing of electrical components (TID, SEE, etc.)
  • Knowledge of control systems and orbital mechanics
  • Existing or recent TS/SCI clearance
