About The Position

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Indirect Tax Accountant! This position plays a key role in overseeing indirect tax compliance and supporting the organization’s sales and use tax obligations. This position is responsible for analyzing taxability, reviewing transactions, resolving tax issues, and ensuring accurate and timely filings across multiple jurisdictions. The role partners with internal stakeholders, supports audits and notice resolution, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and scalability within the tax function.

Requirements

  • B.S. / B.A. Degree In Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience within a large corporation.
  • Strong technical indirect tax expertise.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team structure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to identify and source accurate data for various tax schedules
  • Ability to analyze and interpret workpapers
  • Advanced excel proficiency – ability to work with large files.
  • Experience with online tax research tools such as CCH, Checkpoint and the Internet.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Products.

Nice To Haves

  • Telecom experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries and perform account reconciliations, identify account variances, and determine corrective courses of action.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sales and use tax. Ability to research rules and regulations and stay current with changes in tax/ compliance law.
  • Ensure timely compliance with all annual and interim reporting requirements.
  • Review and approve indirect tax filings prepared both internally and externally by third party accounting firms
  • Lead U.S. sales and use tax compliance end-to-end: data prep, return review/approval, payment scheduling, and notice resolution.
  • Coordinate and support external partners with supporting tax return review, business license registration/renewals and annual reports.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  • Ability to assist with audits.
  • Collaborate with treasury to facilitate payments and with accounting for account postings.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to various departments on indirect tax matters, registrations, and inquiries.
  • Analyze customer transactions as they relate to tax issues and analyze internal business process.
  • Possess ability to identify and follow through on system issues regarding the flow of sales and use tax transactions.
  • Ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to create and implement standardized procedures and documentation.
