About the position

Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance for a full-time, direct-hire position at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The role involves managing an enterprise network, ensuring infrastructure meets service level agreements, and providing a positive customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong foundational skills in VMWare, Microsoft Windows, SQL Databases, and network infrastructure, along with the ability to interface with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage an enterprise network consisting of VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL Databases, and network infrastructure.
• Installation, configuration, and upgrading of Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Installation, configuration, and upgrading of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 and 9.
• Administration of Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres database management systems.
• System patching and remediation.
• Review system logs for errors and anomalies.
• Interface with multiple service providers to ensure all system agents and services are functioning properly.
• Interface with end users to resolve client issues and provide basic training on Lenel OnGuard.
• Monitor system performance and perform daily health checks.
• Maintain system security posture including quarterly STIG updates and SCAP scans, system audits, and responding to security concerns.
• Manage client accounts for Lenel OnGuard.
• Perform routine database maintenance including backups, restorations, and maintaining database security settings.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Information Systems and 7+ years of hands-on experience, or an Associates degree in a technology field and 10+ years of hands-on experience.
• Minimum Baseline IAT II certification (IAT III preferred).
• Microsoft Windows Server certification (any version); MCP or MCSA acceptable; MCSE preferred.
• Active Lenel OnGuard Certified Professional certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.
