About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks a Rigging Superintendent for our Columbia, SC region. This role involves managing the activities of General Foreman and assigned craft workers, establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet construction schedules, and interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders. The Superintendent will also maintain time records, enforce safety regulations, estimate worker-hour requirements, and resolve work problems. Coordination of equipment and material movement, detection of dangerous conditions, and performance of frequent safety inspections are key responsibilities. Regular attendance and potential for significant travel are required.

Requirements

Rigger Journeyman level minimum of 5+ years of experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience.
Appropriate journeyman experience required.

Responsibilities

Manage activities of General Foreman and assigned craft workers.
Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
Maintain time records.
Interpret company policies to workers, and enforce safety regulations.
Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job.
Analyze and resolve work problems.
Coordinate the movement of equipment and material according to visual signals and directions.
Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
Perform frequent safety inspections of work area, equipment, tools, and employees in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
Regular attendance is required.
Significant travel may be required.
Performs other duties as required.
