About the position

Enveda is seeking a dedicated Senior Scientist to join the Sample Management department in Boulder, CO. This role focuses on performing and optimizing daily sample management processes, emphasizing hands-on laboratory work and managing sample automation systems while ensuring high-quality standards through robust QC protocols and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and improve upon routine and advanced laboratory methods.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize sample automation systems, such as the Hamilton Star and Hamilton Verso.
  • Develop and enforce QC protocols and documentation for Sample Management Automation.
  • Audit electronic lab notebook (ELN) entries and lead initiatives to streamline processes across multiple teams, aiming to reduce errors.
  • Engage in continuous learning and self-education to remain at the forefront of sample management practices.
  • Work with large laboratory database systems such as CDD and Benchling for accurate data entry, workflow optimization, and integration with automation tools.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to customize automation workflows and implement cross-functional workflows.
  • Support the expansion of sample capacity through innovative solutions and process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on laboratory experience, including expertise in liquid handling and pipetting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both routine and complex laboratory tasks efficiently.
  • Proven track record of solving complex challenges and fostering a culture of quality.
  • Experience with managing sample automation systems like Hamilton Star and Hamilton Verso is highly preferred.
  • A background in sample or compound management or related operational departments within the biotech industry is strongly preferred.
  • Chemistry background whose education will improve processes around compound database registration and small molecule work in the laboratory.
  • Familiarity with laboratory database systems such as CDD and Benchling.
  • Ability to mentor team members, share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement within the team.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead projects involving multiple teams.
  • A commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous learning.
