About the position

The Sr Sales Operations Business Analyst at Cengage Group plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of the sales organization through data analysis. This position involves developing best practices for data collection, analyzing business problems, and providing strategic recommendations to improve sales channel efficiency and profitability. The analyst collaborates with various stakeholders to optimize processes and reporting, ensuring that the sales team can make data-driven decisions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and publishes reporting and analytics for Channel Sales.
  • Completes reporting of performance indicators for the Sales leadership team.
  • Analyzes data models to deliver logical conclusions based on data.
  • Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis to support the sales teams.
  • Gains an in-depth understanding of critical business requirements and recommends improvements.
  • Defines and tracks key performance indicators for process efficiency.
  • Evaluates Salesforce configuration and implements changes for data optimization.
  • Builds, configures, customizes, and automates technology solutions for sales channels.
  • Creates sales data standards and manages Salesforce data quality.
  • Assists with data and recommendations for pricing strategies and compensation planning.
  • Develops and maintains detailed business process documents and diagrams.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure alignment with project plans and goals.
  • Educates the sales organization on new processes driven by data analysis.
  • Recommends additional tools and resources for data modeling.
  • Works on special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in business analysis or related fields.
  • Salesforce Lightning administration experience.
  • Proven proficiency in quantitative analysis and data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Experience in generating process documentation and reports.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven with project management capabilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Power BI and Excel.
  • Extensive experience with data visualization.
  • High proficiency in technical writing.
