About the position
The Senior Research Scientist in Adhesives/Coating Technology at James Hardie Building Products Inc. is responsible for leading projects that develop next-generation coating technologies. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver new products to the market, focusing on adhesives and coating technologies. The position is highly visible within the organization and reports to the Director of Materials Technology.
Responsibilities
- Execute projects related to the development of next-generation coating technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver new product solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technology/product development.
- Ensure high-quality standards in project execution and delivery.
- Communicate effectively with management and various business functions.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS in Engineering or Chemistry (plastic engineering, polymer science/engineering, coating science/engineering, chemical engineering, or materials sciences).
- 3+ years of experience in R&D, innovation, and product development.
- Demonstrated capability in plastic film formulation and coating technology development.
- Extensive knowledge of laminate film formulations and processes.
- Experience with adhesive chemistry and interfacial chemistry.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge in laminate film and packaging technology.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
- Understanding of interface chemistry.
