About the position

The Sr. Research Nurse at Johns Hopkins University is responsible for the coordination and implementation of clinical trials within the Developmental Therapeutics Program. This role involves project management, recruitment and enrollment of subjects, data collection, quality assurance, communication with stakeholders, and education for both patients and staff. The position requires collaboration with various healthcare professionals and oversight of clinical associates, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and the successful execution of research protocols.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates research requirements for designated patient populations.
• Collaborates in the development & writing of protocols and consent forms.
• Applies knowledge of study design to evaluate new protocols.
• Reviews & assesses new protocols for clarity, thoroughness, and logistical feasibility.
• Ensures compliance with local & national regulatory standards.
• Collaborates in the development of recruitment strategies to ensure patient accrual.
• Ensures collection of pertinent data from internal & external sources.
• Monitors study team compliance with required study procedures & GCP standards.
• Provides initial and ongoing education to patients and families regarding clinical trials.
• Participates in the orientation process for new Clinical Research Nurses.

Requirements

• Registered nurse, licensed in the State of Maryland or state where practicing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related discipline.
• Minimum of two years' experience in the specialty or a related area.
