About the position

The Sr Rad Pro Technical Specialist at Constellation is responsible for implementing and managing technical programs related to radiation protection, including dosimetry, instrumentation, and regulatory compliance. This role involves performing technical evaluations, tracking metrics, and ensuring programs meet regulatory standards while fostering continuous learning and improvement within the department.

Responsibilities

• Implement station technical programs such as Dosimetry, Instrumentation, and respiratory programs.
• Track and monitor Radiation Protection (RP) metrics for technical programs and generate corrective actions.
• Benchmark and improve programs to achieve industry best performance in cost, execution, and standardization.
• Perform assessments of programs to identify problems and implement systematic corrections.
• Conduct technical calculations required for program fidelity and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate procedure changes with site and fleet, writing transition plans for effective communication.
• Implement corrective actions and self-assessments into departmental learning objectives and training.
• Represent Radiation Protection in meetings regarding programmatic issues with regulators and stakeholders.
• Perform in-field observations to ensure standards of performance are met.

Requirements

• BS degree in health physics or related science with 4 years of experience in radiation protection.
• OR Associate Degree in health physics or related science and 6 years of experience in radiation protection.
• OR High School Diploma with four years ANSI Rad Protection Technician qualifications, or at least eight years of radiation protection related experience in a nuclear power facility.
• Demonstrated communications ability both written and oral.

Nice-to-haves

• Successfully completed NRRPT or the CHP certifications.
