Sr Project Manager

Deighton Associates Ltd.Whitby, ON
$100,000 - $130,000

About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of our dTIMS software to infrastructure asset owners across the globe. This is a high-impact, client-facing role at the heart of our delivery practice — where your expertise in software implementation, infrastructure asset management, and stakeholder leadership will directly shape the success of our clients and the growth of our business. You will own the full project lifecycle, from scoping and mobilisation through to go-live and handover, ensuring every delivery is on time, within budget, and exceeds client expectations.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of project management experience, with a strong track record of delivering software implementation projects in complex, client-facing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with or within the infrastructure asset management sector (roads, transport, utilities, or related fields).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing competing priorities without compromising delivery quality.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging C-suite and senior government clients.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, and change control.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall and hybrid).

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification (Project Management Institute) or equivalent (PRINCE2, AgilePM).
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with asset management software platforms or GIS-integrated tools.
  • Familiarity with dTIMS or similar infrastructure decision-support systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, end-to-end dTIMS software implementation projects, serving as the primary point of accountability for delivery outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Develop and maintain robust project plans that align client business objectives with our delivery methodology, coordinating cross-functional teams, technical specialists, and third-party consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Drive project governance by establishing clear milestones, KPIs, and reporting cadences that keep stakeholders informed and projects on track.
  • Act as the senior client relationship owner throughout project delivery, building trusted partnerships with infrastructure asset owners and ensuring their strategic goals are embedded in every phase of the project.
  • Facilitate executive-level steering committees, workshops, and project reviews, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Proactively manage client expectations, escalating risks and issues transparently while always presenting a path forward.
  • Define, baseline, and control project scope in close collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring all deliverables are clearly documented and agreed upon.
  • Monitor project financials including budgets, forecasts, and resource costs, identifying variances early and taking corrective action to protect margin and client value.
  • Identify and manage change requests with rigour, assessing commercial and schedule impact before committing to changes.
  • Maintain a dynamic risk register, proactively identifying threats to delivery and developing mitigation and contingency strategies before issues escalate.
  • Navigate complex delivery environments — including data migration challenges, integration dependencies, and organisational change — with confidence and pragmatism.
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project staff, contributing to the development of our delivery capability and best practices.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet our quality standards and client acceptance criteria, conducting structured post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned.
  • Champion improvements to our delivery frameworks, templates, and methodologies, driving greater consistency and efficiency across projects.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the dTIMS software suite and its application within infrastructure asset management — including pavement, structures, and network-level analysis — to credibly guide clients and bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
