About The Position

NORESCO, part of Carrier Global Corporation, is seeking a Sr. Project Manager for its Water/Wastewater Engineering Group. NORESCO specializes in developing and delivering upgrades to utility client facilities to save operating costs or increase operating revenue, often in a Progressive Design Build environment with long-term operating performance guarantees. The Water/Wastewater Engineering Group provides specialized skills for water and wastewater treatment plants and distribution and collection systems, and is product and technology agnostic. This role is responsible for the conceptual development and design of upgrades, leading teams of in-house staff and consulting engineers, managing design schedules and budgets, overseeing customer engineering deliverables, providing QA/QC, running technical customer meetings, and serving as the primary technical customer interface on large projects. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Water/Wastewater Engineering and is involved in all project phases from opportunity identification to long-term monitoring, with a key role in supporting business development and implementation strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of engineering and/or engineering management experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Municipal Water/Wastewater facility engineering projects
  • Professional Engineer’s registration (or on a path to obtain one)

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for planning, directing, and monitoring all engineering aspects of water/wastewater projects from the concept stage through detailed design, construction, and commissioning in a collaborative Design/Build process.
  • Managing and maintaining the design schedule, design budget, project scope of work, and engineering deliverables.
  • Tracking design deliverables/submissions, customer comments and approvals, and ensuring all project scope elements are accurately designed, documented, reviewed, and distributed.
  • Leading design review meetings and charrettes, both internally and with the customer and their advisors.
  • Leading engineering activities during project development, including site investigations, data collection, preparation of conceptual design documents, pricing-level design documents, and final design and permitting.
  • Supporting project pricing efforts in partnership with the NORESCO construction department, including bid packages, subcontractor qualification, bid-walks, bid reviews, value engineering, and evaluation of life cycle and long-term service agreements.
  • Supporting the project team during construction, commissioning, and performance phases to resolve design issues, document as-built conditions, and ensure performance objectives are met.
  • Identifying key customer interests, needs, and drivers and refining strategies and scopes to address these concerns.
  • Mentoring water/wastewater engineers earlier in their career development.
  • Supporting sales and development groups to prospect clients, audit customer facilities, participate in sales presentations, and develop technical write-ups for proposals.
  • Evaluating facility upgrades through equipment or system modeling and analysis.
