About the position

The position involves providing project management and operational support for various workstreams within the Operational Design program at Optum Care Operations. The role focuses on improving the experience for providers and patients while reducing operational costs and enhancing quality. The individual will coordinate and complete projects across functional areas, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope, while also managing vendor relationships and facilitating communication among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of various Blue-Chip Growth/Business projects for the West Region with applicable stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans including resource assignments, schedules, and dependencies.
  • Obtain agreement on project scope from applicable stakeholders and ensure requirements sign-off is obtained.
  • Raise awareness of any misalignment or misunderstanding of project scope and objectives with applicable stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all impacted areas are identified and appropriate resources are engaged in the scope definition process.
  • Ensure project scope, requirements, and approvals comply with current governance guidelines and methodology.
  • Monitor scope requirements and identify scope-related gaps and issues.
  • Identify all project dependencies and linkages, including inter-departmental activities and regulatory due dates.
  • Identify all project deliverables and success criteria.
  • Manage and support project scope and objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish, implement, and comply with change management processes to drive effective project execution.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading projects of various complexity and documenting project charters, project plans, IRAADs and other documents.
  • 3+ years of proven success in leading programs/projects through the entire life cycle.
  • 1+ years of experience in Healthcare/Insurance or digital space.
  • Experience navigating complex problems and crafting unique and scalable solutions.
  • Experience running multiple projects independently and proactively tackling obstacles.
  • Experience assimilating information quickly and understanding relevant relationships with a sense of urgency.
  • IPA/MSO operations experience with system configuration and/or IPA payor/provider contract interpretation or network management.
  • Experience working in a highly variable, virtual, and matrixed environment.
  • Experience planning and executing project plans including work breakdown, resource estimates, activity planning, resource scheduling, project administration, and status reporting.
  • Proficient in running a project plan including detailed task documentation and outcomes.
  • Proficient in PC based software programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.
  • Proven attention to detail and great time management skills.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build credibility and trust.
  • Proven competent in executive level communication with proficiency creating and delivering executive summaries.
  • Proven solid analytical skills.
  • Proven negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
