About the position

The Sr. Project Chemist position at KOMAN Government Solutions involves supporting a diverse portfolio of projects for federal agencies, including the DoD and EPA. The role can be tailored to full-time or part-time based on the candidate's availability, focusing on environmental chemistry and data management.

Responsibilities

• Proposal support: identify preferred environmental analytical laboratories and obtain competitive pricing.
• Prepare chemistry portion of UFP QAPPs and ensure work plans prepared by junior staff correctly identify analytical methods and requirements.
• Resolve chemistry-related client or regulatory comments on plans and reports.
• Support preparation of analytical laboratory scopes of work and coordinate with laboratories before and after sampling events.
• Review laboratory data reports for completeness, correctness, and conformance with requirements.
• Follow established DoD and EPA guidelines for data validation and review reports prepared by junior staff.
• Manage analytical data in NIRIS and various USACE chemistry databases.
• Implement and monitor corrective actions as needed.
• Potentially take on Project Manager or Program Manager responsibilities based on experience and interest.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Environmental Chemistry (Master's preferred).
• 10+ years of experience supporting federal projects.
• Experience in commercial environmental analytical laboratories.
• Expertise in chemical data quality management and environmental data verification.
• Experience with explosives, perchlorate, and PFAS analytical methods.
• Experience working on DoD and federal agency projects.
