About the position

The Sr Product Portfolio Manager at Xcel Energy is responsible for managing the entire product life cycle to achieve performance goals related to profit and loss (P&L), customer acquisition and retention, and customer satisfaction. This role involves overseeing the marketing mix, communications, training, and support needs of the product portfolio, while driving product delivery effectiveness and ensuring customer satisfaction across various market segments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of product life cycle to meet or exceed performance goals (P&L, customer acquisition/retention, customer satisfaction) across relevant market and customer segments.
  • Oversee and ensure all portfolio strategies meet corporate and customer needs.
  • Implement all aspects of the portfolio's marketing mix including pricing, sales channels, launch activities, acquisition and retention, life-cycle management, and customer migration paths.
  • Manage daily product portfolio issues across segments to meet goals.
  • Drive and champion initiatives across departments to achieve goals.
  • Develop budgets, sales forecasts, sales & marketing expenses, and profitability goals.
  • Track the progress of each portfolio (P&L) and product against targets, ensuring accountability to product P&L.
  • Ensure programs are implemented within regulatory policies and requirements specific to each state.
  • Drive recommendations to Product Development for new technologies available.
  • Ensure product content and prices are accurate.
  • Understand customer needs using internal and external data, providing insights through customer journey mapping, personas, segmentation, and demographics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand product/service/customer interactions and experiences.
  • Make recommendations on customer strategy based on market issues, industry developments, competitors, and pricing strategies.

Requirements

  • College degree required, or equivalent years of education and experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Five years of experience in marketing, product management, or product development is required.
  • Team and peer leadership with excellent communication skills and proven results.
  • Two years of experience with regulatory requirements and conservation programs is mandatory for Demand Side Management portfolio management.
