About the position
The Senior Principal Project Engineer - Injection Molding at Stryten Energy is responsible for managing manufacturing and facility support system projects across four plastic component plants. This role involves overseeing project deliverables, resource selection, budget management, and ensuring timely completion of projects. The engineer will lead efforts to improve manufacturability, support maintenance training, analyze performance issues, and maintain project documentation, all while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage manufacturing and facility projects, including establishing deliverables and ensuring on-time completion.
- Lead internal and external technicians to enhance the manufacturability of plastic component processes and equipment.
- Support maintenance and processing personnel in training and equipment engineering activities.
- Analyze performance problems to identify and implement root cause solutions.
- Maintain documentation, including drawings and database listings.
- Communicate with site Engineering Managers regarding manufacturing and facility project issues and suggestions.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce setup time, scrap, and improve product yield.
- Own the Project Management process, including CERs, project timelines, and communication with Senior Leadership.
- Set and approve procedures and policies for all plastic manufacturing locations.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering required
- 3 years related experience
- Project management, maintenance management, and programming of computer-operated equipment is a plus
- Understanding of injection molding machines and the injection molding process
- Demonstrated experience in project management or project management certification
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use root cause analysis methodology
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor
- Strong organizational skills
