About the position

The Senior Physical Therapist (Sr PT) at Houston Methodist is responsible for overseeing clinical operations across multiple clinics, serving as a clinical expert in patient assessments and treatment plans. This role involves managing metrics, leading quality improvement initiatives, mentoring team members, and ensuring optimal patient care and safety. The Sr PT acts as a liaison between management and staff, coordinating activities and participating in service expansion and business development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and develop comprehensive plans of care.
  • Manage and analyze clinical metrics, reporting on data and developing best practices.
  • Mentor and train team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits and provide feedback on staff performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for routine matters within the service line and clinics.
  • Advocate for patients and families, addressing clinical and ethical concerns.
  • Implement protocols to optimize staff performance and patient safety.
  • Develop and present educational programs for team members and clinical fellows.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Five years of experience as a Physical Therapist, or four years with a specialty certification.
  • State licensure as a Physical Therapist within 90 days or temporary licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
