As a Senior Optical Engineer, II, supporting Research and Development, you will be trusted to work on innovative designs for interocular lenses and supporting manufacturing departments at our Fort Worth, TX location.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research into phases of physical optics and geometric optics, lasers, laser characteristics, laser maintenance, and broadband optical sources.
  • Applying research of intricate optical systems to achieve desired optical outcomes.
  • Developing component specifications, tolerances, simulations and tests procedures for electro-optical systems and components.
  • Using design-to-cost models, six sigma methodology, and other methods to assure and verify optical design requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs).
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • 2 Years of Validated Experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Degree of study focused within Optical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Zemax, FDTD, FRED and Matlab.
  • A desire to collaborate with peers in an effort to build innovative Alcon products.
