About the position
The Sr Manufacturing Engineer at Schwan's Company is responsible for driving process improvements in manufacturing processing and packaging systems. This remote position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing performance and implement cost-saving strategies. The role emphasizes technical leadership, data analysis, and the development of manufacturing standards to ensure sustainability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Drive process improvement in Manufacturing Processing and Packaging systems.
- Develop and deploy strategies to maximize manufacturing performance on targeted systems.
- Lead efforts to identify and drive cost savings projects, such as material optimization or waste reduction.
- Create and improve manufacturing instructions and standards to increase sustainability and reduce variation.
- Develop and deploy advanced data analysis tools to expose and eliminate losses.
- Provide technical leadership to solve problems and drive improvements in production systems.
- Build technical skills within manufacturing teams to eliminate losses across processing and packaging systems.
- Maintain a central library of technical documentation for standardization and best practice sharing.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned technologies and platforms.
- Conduct oneself and those led in a manner consistent with company mission, values, and standards of conduct.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Experience in Food Manufacturing or Consumer Packaged Goods.
- Familiarity with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Leadership experience in structured problem-solving approaches such as Lean, Six-Sigma, or TPM.
- Development and use of statistical models and data analytics.
