About the position

As a Workforce Management Strategy & Implementation Sr. Manager at McKesson, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing a new workforce management capability and function. You will be responsible for working with a cross-functional team to develop and execute strategies that ensure the efficient allocation of frontline, hourly-resources, optimization of staffing levels, and the overall effectiveness of the workforce across McKesson's distribution centers. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing and optimizing workforce management processes, utilizing workforce management software and tools, and driving data-driven decision making in a frontline environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to execute the vision, goals, and objectives of the new workforce management capability.
  • Implement robust workforce management processes, including time and attendance, demand forecasting, capacity planning, scheduling, real-time monitoring, and performance analytics.
  • Partner with McKesson Technology to assess existing workforce management tools and identify gaps in functionality.
  • Develop and maintain a robust reporting framework to track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve workforce productivity and efficiency.
  • Interface with 3rd-party / managed service providers to coordinate system and tool improvements.
  • Responsible for change management and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new workforce management processes and technologies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the workforce management capability and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Legal, Operations, Finance, and IT to align workforce management strategies with business objectives.
  • Assist with staffing and leading a team whose members ensure quality day-to-day management of the function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a proven track record of successfully implementing workforce management and forecasting capabilities within a large, complex, public company.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce management principles, methodologies, and best practices, preferably in a distribution center or warehouse logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with workforce management software, timekeeping and scheduling tools, and analytics platforms (Kronos/UKG, ADP, Workday preferred).
  • Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Change management experience, including developing and executing change management, communication, and training plans.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
