About the position
The Sr. Manager, Solution Architect at Capital One will lead the design and implementation of technology solutions for the Card Partnerships segment, which focuses on Co-Branded and Private Label Credit Cards. This role involves providing technical leadership, engaging with various stakeholders, and contributing to architecture across multiple teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for making critical technical decisions, managing conflicts, and ensuring high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead solutions architecture design for multi-platform/cross-platform solutions.
- Conduct trade-off and impact analysis for technical decisions and manage conflicts.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and strategy in partnership with delivery and product teams.
- Represent solutions in Architecture Review Boards and various discussions.
- Present work products and strategies to product managers and technology leadership.
- Act as the primary architecture contact for other teams regarding solutions and systems.
- Continuously learn and adapt as technology needs evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- At least 6 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design.
- At least 2 years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large/complex organizations.
- 8+ years of experience architecting, designing, and delivering scalable systems in a regulated environment.
- 3+ years of experience working with internal and external business clients.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS concepts and implementations.
- Experience mentoring software engineers or architects.
- AWS or equivalent certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect-Associate, GCP or Azure).
