About the position

The Sr. Manager, Product Management for API Platforms at Capital One is responsible for leading the API ecosystem and associated developer platforms, focusing on API security and governance. This role involves advocating for customer needs, defining product features, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver platform capabilities that align with business outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, experience in product management, and a passion for building secure and effective solutions for developers.

Responsibilities

• Engage all stakeholders (Engineers, SDLC, Architecture, Risk, and Cyber) to identify new capabilities and define product features.
• Prepare strategic vision & roadmaps, and communicate them to Leadership and stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering as a Product Owner for multiple teams, articulating requirements effectively.
• Drive the product management practice within the organization, defining expectations and commitments.
• Operationalize product metrics for owned products and build business cases for new investments.
• Influence senior stakeholders to utilize products and share outcomes to strengthen investment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
• At least 5 years of experience in digital product management

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• MBA or Master's degree
• 5+ years of experience in Agile product management
• Experience with API platforms or API management in an enterprise environment
• Experience with cyber security, especially with APIs and cross-enterprise use cases
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification
